Anthony James Moran, of Bridgeport, was killed in the collision that occurred in Trumbull on Sunday, Oct. 15 around 3:30 p.m. on White Plains Road.
Moran was the passenger in a red Lexus SC 430 convertible that was being driven by a 22-year-old Trumbull man, which struck a maroon Chrysler 300 S, according to authorities.
A preliminary police investigation determined that the Chrysler, driven by a 46-year-old Trumbull man who was the only occupant in the vehicle, was traveling south on White Plains Road (Route 127) toward the Route 25 southbound entrance ramp.
The Lexus was traveling north on White Plains Road toward the Route 25 entrance, said Lt. Brian Weir, of the Trumbull Police.
As the Lexus approached another vehicle that was stopped in the left travel lane waiting to turn left onto the Route 25 southbound entrance ramp, the Lexus swerved left around the stopped vehicle, striking the Chrysler head-on, Weir said.
The impact caused the Chrysler to spin around coming to rest facing the southbound Lane, and the Lexus spun and rolled coming to rest on its driver’s side, which caused both occupants to be ejected, and resulted in fatal injuries to Moran.
The driver of the Chrysler was transported to Bridgeport Hospital and the driver of the Lexus was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center where they were treated for their injuries.
As of this time, no charges have been filed as the Trumbull and Fairfield Police Department’s Traffic Divisions are currently investigating the incident.
